59 The Lead Active Treatment Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Active Treatment Coordinator Supervisor.
Works under moderate supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
The Active Treatment Coordinator performs moderately complex human services support work to include but not limited to:
Organizing and coordinating leisure activities for individuals served which is age appropriate, based on their individualized interests, and is meaningful in reaching their goals.
Monitoring that individuals served are provided with a variety of quality leisure opportunities on campus, as well as in the local community settings.
Providing information to individuals served and responsible staff, regarding activities being offered on and off campus.
Following-up with individuals served and staff to verify quality of activities and services, and assist with adjusting activities and services to better meet the individuals needs and preferences.
Preparing and providing feedback reports to the Active Treatment Coordinator Supervisor regarding the on-going monitoring of activities and services offered.
Working closely with the Active Treatment Coordinator Supervisor and Recreation Program Manager.
Maintaining inventory and ordering recreational supplies on each home in their respective unit assigned.
Developing initiative and imaginative ideas to insure individuals are engaged in meaningful and functional activities.
Monitoring scheduled activities to ensure quality delivery of active treatment services.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Establish and maintain positive, supportive relationships with individuals served, family members and friends, and employees.

Coordinates activities for individuals living at Mexia State Supported Living Center that is appropriate to their level of functioning.

Coach, model and train staff on active treatment strategies as activities are conducted and providing following-up to ensure quality active treatment and services are provided that meet with consumer satisfaction.

Prepares written documentation and reports, regarding monitoring of activities provided and outcomes of observations, quarterly or as requested.

Maintains professional and effective communications with Active Treatment Coordinator Supervisor, Recreational Program Manager and Home Managers.

Ensures the availability of supplies and resources necessary for functional and appropriate activities.

Maintains eligibility to operate state vehicles, so as to assist in the transporting of individuals going on scheduled activities.
Accurately completes preventative maintenance checks and routine vehicle paperwork as per facility policy.

Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Serves as lead Active Treatment Coordinator.
(On-going) Knowledge Skills Abilities:
The Active Treatment Coordinator should demonstrate dedication to public service and care for people with developmental disabilities, commitment to excellence in service delivery, personal integrity and recognition of the individual worth and common needs of all people and should have a history of establishing positive relationships with consumers, family members and friends and co-workers.
Knowledge of client care techniques and of treatment, therapy, and developmental programs.
Ability to provide client care, to administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), to conduct prevention and management of aggressive behavior (PMAB), to communicate effectively, and to train others.
Registration or Licensure Requirements:
May require a valid driver's license and certification in CPR, first aid, or SUR Initial Selection Criteria:
One year experience in direct individual care work.
Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent Additional Information:
Salary Note:
The salary offered will follow HHS starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range.
